eBay ABINGTON POTTERY Pair of WHITE HORSE BOOKENDS c. 1945-50 Each is 6.5″ tall x 3.5″ wide This is an unusual and seldom-seen pair of Abington bookends. Abington made very few bookends, perhaps only 4-6 different styles. Condition is excellent on one horse. The other has a minor repair (please note photo) to the back corner. Usually these sell for $60-75, but I am pricing this pair accordingly. Buyer pays Ebay’s estimated shipping plus $3.00 ($4.00 for outside continental US) for professional packing/materials. I will refund any shipping costs paid that exceed the actual shipping cost plus handling. And I will combine items IF PRACTICAL to help buyer of multiple items save shipping. Buyers, Please Note: The items I sell are “used,” or “formerly owned,” or “vintage,” or perhaps “antique.” NONE OF THESE ITEMS ARE EVER 100% PERFECT – they may have slight signs of wear, – scratches, dimples, bumps, rubs, etc. Even brand new items have some imperfections – and these old eyes may miss some once in a while. So I rarely use the word “PERFECT” when describing items that I sell – because if you look hard enough a flaw can be found in anything. So I want you to understand how difficult it is for a seller to catch every scuff, bump, or manufacturing imperfection an item may possess. I strive to accurately describe what I sell. If I spy a damage or a major imperfection I will clearly state it and if possible photograph it for the listing, too. However, some ‘flaws’ are not damage – they are either normal signs of usage or a condition inherent in the item, like the fine cracks in an oil painting: the older the item, the more likely these signs of usage will be in evidence. Some may be too small to be photographed. I strive to find and mention these conditions – but if I miss something you find to be significant please just bring it to my attention and we will work it out to your 100% satisfaction. My buyers’ opinion is very important to me. That said, I cannot offer you ‘perfect’ items unless they are new, unopened, or in their original packaging from the factory – so please do not expect ‘perfection’ UNLESS the item is described as “MINT – NEW IN BOX!.” A vintage or antique item will be described fully and as accurately by me as I can but I may miss something by accident. Should you discover something that troubles you, DO NOT CONTACT EBAY FIRST but rather email me immediately and let’s discuss it. In most cases I will want the offending item returned to me (and I will pay return postage!) and I usually will not offer discount for you to keep it. Some dishonest buyers will claim damage on anything, just to squeeze the seller into kicking back a portion of the purchase price: That is NOT me! You have a perfect right to expect what you buy to give you satisfaction – and if a minor flaw interferes with achieving that satisfaction you can and should bring this to the seller’s attention.
