Wonderfully brilliant example of character toddler mold #122 with bisque head made by acclaimed German doll makers Simon & Halbig for Kammer & Reinhardt. The doll's head is incised: Simon & Halbig K star R 122 The 100 series of character babies and children began in 1909, and proved to be extremely popular. This 122 toddler has a perfect bisque head with no damage, flaws, or repair and exhibits all the finest characteristics one can hope for in acquiring a top quality doll. The bisque is smooth and creamy with perfect, even coloring and deeply-modeled features with full cheeks, chin dimple, pert nose, and beautiful modeling which can be seen in the area of his mouth and eyes. He has brown sleep eyes with an abundance of painted upper and lower lashes, molded & feathered brows, smiling expression with open mouth and two upper porcelain teeth and tremble tongue. His head circumference is a full 17″ and he is on a top-of-the-line chunky, heavy toddler body with desirable slanted hips, wooden ball joints, and sturdy limbs. The body is perfectly proportioned with the head to give the doll the look of a real two-year old child. The tummy protrudes a little, the bellybutton is present, and the limbs are full and chunky, like a sturdy little toddler boy. The body is in very fine condition in the original finish with less than typical wear of a doll this old. He is attired in an antique blue cotton chambray, long-sleeve toddler dress with contrasting trim in a sweet blue & white check that runs down the side front placket which buttons up the front. A belt and pocket in the same check make for a perfect look. He also has dark blue socks and vintage, or antique red leather shoes. He retains his original light brown mohair wig and cardboard pate. I originally bought this toddler for my own collection as he was the finest one I had ever had, and I've been an antique doll dealer and collector since 1990 and he just was the whole package to me. Unfortunately at this time, I cannot keep him so I'm offering him for sale and hope someone will love him as much as I have. I'm sure he would be just as wonderful dressed & wigged as a toddler girl, but I'm a “Boy Mom” (lol) and so to me, baby and toddler dolls always seem like they should be boys.😊 His little pig toy does not come with him, but I will find him some small little toy or stuffed animal for his next owner and include it when he ships. Due to his size, weight, and value for insuring the package, I'm charging $70 for shipping, but I want to tell you that if shipping is less I will refund the overage to you, but if it costs more, I will cover the difference myself.
