This hard-to-find beautiful needlework picture was skillfully stitched from a kit entitled “Baa Baa Black Sheep”. The kit was designed by Eileen Hayes, produced by Dimensions, and distributed by From the Heart in 1987. This is a completed, custom-framed edition. It features four fluffy white sheep and a charcoal gray lamb with a gorgeous floral hedge in the background. The predominant colors in this piece are shades of pink, green, and gray; a very popular color scheme in the late 1980s – 1990s. The canvas is triple matted with inner peachy-pink, center seafoam green and outer deep green mattes. The frame is solid wood, painted seafoam green with an antiqued white glaze. There is a sticker on the back from “Judie’s Frame Shop”, a picture framing gallery that closed about years ago. The framed picture has a landscape orientation and measures about 15 inches in height and is approximately 21 inches wide, so it’s a nice,medium-sized needlepoint piece. It is solid and substantial – what you expect with a custom job. The colors are vibrant and just fantastic – it is much more striking in person than the pictures show. The completed picture is in great vintage condition. The canvas is securely mounted. The frame has some minor scuffs from wear, consistent with age. The matting is in great condition with no fading, stains, spots or holes. The needlework picture also in wonderful condition – no fading, stains, or holes. The glass is in good condition with no cracks or chips. There are some minor tears in the picture’s paper backing – does not affect the picture. The hanging bracket is sturdy and intact.
