THE AUSTRALIAN HOME JOURNAL ~Vintage Magazine Collection~(Box picture for illustration only – NOT SUPPLIED)The Australian Home Journal was an Australian home and fashion magazine published from 1894 to 1983 when it became Home Beautiful. Collected together in digital format on a unique CD-Rom, we are pleased to present a selection of 17 high resolution colour scans of the magazine from the late 1940s and early 1950s. Running to approximately 50 pages in length per issue, the primary focus of the journal during this time was ladies fashion. In particular, the journal was aimed and the young, fashionable Australian lady interested in recreating the fashions of the day for themselves. As such it features many beautifully illustrated examples of contemporary fashions of the period along with instructions for crochet, knitting, sewing etc. The magazine also features a small amount of childrens and gents fashions and also, fictional stories, recipes, a regular section on theatre and movies and also features a great selection of charming product advertisements in the inimitable style of the 40s and 50sAll of the magazines on the disc, in PDF format are 300dpi scans of the original pages so you will be reading each magazine exactly as per the originals.(please note that the sewing patterns for the fashions featured on the cover of each magazine were supplied as inserts but were not present with these copies and hence were not digitised for this disc) screen shot of the disc menu:Features many excellent illustrations.
